Welcome to Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jaintia Hills

• KVK, Jaintia Hills is an innovative science-based institution sponsored by the Indian Council of Agriculture Research, New Delhi and was established by the Department of Agriculture, Government of Meghalaya as a Host Organization to carry forward in implementing the mandates of KVK in the district by applying the principles of “Teaching by doing” and “Learning by doing”.
• The KVK was sanctioned in the year 2004 and was operationalized in the year 2009-10. Previously,the KVK was housed at the state department Farmer’s Training Institute, Rymphum, Jowai which is about 100 meter distance from the National Highway 44 on the way from Jowai to Silchar. However, since March 2023, the KVK has been shifted to its permanent campus which is located at Wahiajer, Thadlaskein Block,West Jaintia Hills (15km from Jowai).
